We are always on the lookout for a great sub $10 bottle of wine. We’re not looking to change lives with this stuff, right? Real Housewives Reunion wine? Check. Child had an hour long temper tantrum wine? Check. Trader Joe’s frozen chicken dinner wine? Check.
Let’s be honest, that’s kinda what we need sometimes.
So when this little gem walked into our lives a few weeks ago we bought with abandon. The Carignan grape can either be very simple and fruity (if made from young vines) or very rich and fascinating (if made from Old Vines fruit and in the hand of an excellent producer). You can safely assume this is the latter. This wine is like kryptonite to wine snobs…it’s inexpensive, delicious, and fun.
I can tell you I paid over $5 for a drink at Starbucks the other day. A drink. I feel like I’m going to enjoy this stuff soooooooo much better!
